Such.Sweet.Kids

One morning this week the kids were sitting side by side on the sofa, watching Dora and eating breakfast.  I ran to get dressed and came back to check on them and this is what I found.  The big sister holding her little brother (who is almost her size).

It was such a sweet moment!!
Love that they love each other!

VBC 2012

Our VBC Son Surf at FUMC has come and gone and it was a blast!  I always look forward to the week of VBC.  I didn't realize how rewarding serving in the children's ministries could be until I volunteered at VBC 3 years ago and now it is just something that I love!  I started volunteering because I wanted to get the kids into the Wee VBC until they could get into VBC at 4.  Graham was in Wee VBC again this year and lucked into having his sweet First Faith teacher, Mrs. Mathiesen and Mrs. Ames.  They are SO great and he loved seeing their familiar faces!  This was Morgan's first year in the a regular VBC class (no more WEE VBC for my big 4 year old).  She did excellent and was excited about it the entire week!

Another perk I get out of volunteering is getting to sneak peeks/take pictures of my own kids during the week...

Day 1 VBC...

Graham in the Sanctuary applauding the music team...
 Sweet boy!
 Day 2...
Morgan with her class in the Sanctuary.  There were tears the first day at drop off because it was a little overwhelming for her.  (Mommy cried too...it breaks my heart when the kids cry)  There were so many people and so it was loud but every other day she did great, knew what to expect and was ready to go!
 Craft time...
Day 3...Graham is very attached to his doggie.  He carried it around most of the week.

What a fun week this was!
The kids keep asking me when they get to go back to VBC.

A big Thank You to our church, children's team and volunteers for such a special, rewarding week.

El Campo Booster Club Golf Tournament

I feel like we have been so busy lately and haven't had time to update my blog, so it's time to play catch up.  We have been enjoying the summer and packing in as much fun as we can handle!

A couple weeks ago we went to El Campo to visit and play in the annual El Campo Booster Club Golf Tournament.  It was so much fun having a family team and being back on our home course.  The country club was our 2nd home growing up-those were the days!  It was nice to see so many old friends out there that we haven't seen in years!  Here is our team and our cheerleader, Val!
We shot a 54 (18 under) which put us in 4th.  One of my favorite golf instructors, our head pro - Tim finished first with a 50.  Amazing!

Troy and his fiance, Valerie!!  We are so excited for them!!
Watching the ball drop after the tournament...

Thanks to Nonny and Aunt Helen for keeping the kids so we could play!
We know they had fun and hope you all did too!

Sea World/Mother's Day

We took our FIRST ever family vacation in May to San Antonio.  We have been on other trips with family and friends but this was the first time it was just the four of us.  It was SO much fun!

We stayed at the Hilton Hill Country Resort and Spa and it was AWESOME!!  The hotel was across the street from Sea World and definitely catered to families with small kids.  We spent the evenings at the hotel swimming, eating, making s'mores and watching the movies out by the pool.   Couldn't have asked for a better hotel experience!

Excited about elevator ride!
Fun 1st day swim!

Playing in the hot tub because the big pool water was pretty chilly!

Daddy makes the BEST s'mores!  Showing the kids how to do it!
Love my cute little family!!
Exited about the dolphins in the hotel...

Sea World!

We saw three different shoes and they were all very cool but Shamu was SO FUN! The Shamu show was by far the kids' favorite show even though he splashed us all and we were soaking wet when we left.

They had a special Max & Ruby show when we were there.  It is one of the kids' favorite TV shows so they really enjoyed seeing them at Sea World!
The park has a great kid's area- Sesame Street Bay of Play, complete with Sesame Street characters! It has kid rides like a mini roller coaster that Morgan and I rode.  Graham was a wasn't quite tall enough for this it.

The four of us did go on one ride together but we didn't get a picture.

They had fun on the HUGE play area...

We ended our visit at the splash park so they could cool off.  The water was pretty chilly so I took pictures and Bryan and the kids played a little.

Me and my mini me!
Before heading out of the park we got them each a Sea World souvenir.  Graham picked out a pack of Shamu balls and Morgan wanted Zoe from Sesame Street.
Graham was wiped out!
Graham snoozed for about 30 minutes and by the time we got back to the hotel they both were ready for more fun!  Running out to hotel pools to swim...
Best Buds!  Melts my heart...
The pool water was much warmer and they were swimming like little fish...

Another night...More S'mores!
Best Daddy and Husband EVER!!
Watching the movie with my babies...
Our last day in San Antonio, Mother's Day, was spent on the Riverwalk. Bryan and the kids are so good to me.  They always make me feel so loved and appreciated and Mother's Day was no different.
Being a mommy is the hardest, most rewarding, most entertaining, most awesome feelings in the world.  I am honored to be Morgan and Graham's mommy!!  Love them to pieces!

We took a river boat tour around the river.  Look at these cuties in their shades!

Then had a yummy lunch at Iron Catcus before heading back home!  This was a perfect family weekend!
We most definitely recommend San Antonio for a little family getaway, it is an easy and fun vacation!
