All Geared Up for Preschool

Last week was Morgan's last week with her sitter, Ms. April. April has been wonderful with Morgan and Morgan loves her to pieces. We are so thankful for our friends that suggested her as a in-home care provider. She has been perfect and it was very hard to say our good-byes. Morgan started going to April's when she was 11 months old and has been there 2-3 days a week since. She has formed a circle of friends there and it is one of her favorite places to go. We will make sure to keep in touch with her friends and make regular visitis to see Ms. April.

Our gift to Ms. April. We will miss you!!

The kids are starting preschool tomorrow at First United Methodist Church. We are very excited about this new adventure.

Meet the Teacher Night...Can't you see the excitement!

We will be loaded down with their cute personalized gear!

I am going to miss them like crazy and will probably be speeding back to pick them up every afternoon but we are confident that they will both do great and love their new school, teachers and classmates. We are looking forward to a fun first year of preschool!

4 days until close date...

We are 4 days away from closing and it is a very stressful time. At least for me it is! Bryan is really calm about all of this and the kids are completely normal and excited about moving in with Gammy and Pops! We have been living in chaos for the last couple weeks. Our pods come tomorrow and thankfully Bryan will be off the rest of the week and here to help finish up packing. Looks like we will be out of our house and begin staying in our new "temporary" house - with Bryan's parent's - on Saturday.

We still haven't heard anything on the house we put an offer on...It would moving so much easier if I knew that we could get into the new home, but oh well. Not much we can do at this point except keep our fingers crossed.

I heard this quote today and felt like I need to post it here...

"I hope my children look back on today, and see a mother who had time to play. There will be time for cleaning and cooking...for children grow up while we're no looking." - Unknown

I am always so busy trying to keep everything in line, clean, laundry done, meals cooked and doing all the other mom duties. Now with adding packing into the mix I have been feeling pretty quilty lately for not taking more time to relax and play with the kiddos. Next week and the weeks to come I will have plenty of time to play with these cuties and I am looking forward to it!!

We made our first offer!

This house hunt is stressful to say the least! We have looked at about 24 houses and Bryan and I are on pretty opposite ends of the spectrum. He is all about location, which I agree, is VERY IMPORTANT but it has been very difficult to find a home that I like in the area that we would love to be in. A lot of the homes we have looked at are older homes and need to be updated and I would rather find a newer home and not have to do all the updating. The GREAT news is that we found one this week that we both LOVE and made an offer on it today. It is a short sale so we have to wait to hear back from the bank which could be a more drawn out process than if we were dealing with the sellers directly. We are keeping our fingers crossed that it all works out.

Our home sale is still holding strong (knock on wood). We had the inspection on Thursday and the appraisal was today. So far so good - we are still scheduled to close on August 25. Less than 2 weeks away but we aren't letting that slow us down. :) Last weekend we went to El Campo to visit family and this weekend Bryan is playing in the Member Member golf tournament at WCCC, leaving us one weekend to pack! Yikes! I got motivated today and started packing some of the kitchen cabinets and got 6 boxes packed. Not much but it's a start!

Here are a few pictures from last weekend in El Campo.

The kids LOVE playing outside in Nonny's big backyard...

One of Morgan's favorite things these days is to color and she is getting very good at it. She talked the boys into coloring with her...

Our sweet kids at Grandma's...

Playing dominoes with Grandma...

Back at Nonny's playing in the strinkler. This girl LOVES the water!

The boys weren't crazy about it at first but eventually came around and had a good time.

Giving the little guy a push...

Cute Cousins!

We headed out to the cotton field to let the kids see the tractors and all the cotton. They weren't too sure about sitting on the tractor...

Graham getting lots of love from Nonny and Auntie.

FOR SALE!

Whew! This has been OnE CrAzY week. We listed our house exactly one week ago, Thursday, July 29th. After 5 days and 6 showings we received our 1st offer. WOW! We are still in the negotating process so we will see how everything unravels. We have been busy looking for a new house but haven't found anything we like yet.

I have mixed emotions about all of this. This home has been great for us and holds lots of great memories so of course it is a little sad but it is also exciting to think about the future and finding a new home.

I will keep you all posted on how things progress!
