Morgan's swim lessons

Morgan's 1st SUCCESSFUL season of swim lessons has come and gone! She took from Ms. Tracy & Ms. Regina for two weeks and she had so much fun! She is already asking to go back. She was pretty shy but still super sweet each day...No tears at all! I was very proud of her because while I was watching her every turn I was also chasing Graham around and she did great without me sitting right beside her. I was shocked how fast she picked up swimming. She always wore floaties before lessons and now wants NOTHING to do with them. It helps to have a pool to practice swimming in every day because that is exactly what we have been doing.

It was a fun session and a great experience. We will be back next year!
But until then we will keep working with our little fish!

Ready, Set, Jump

We moved our slide by the pool yesterday and it was a big hit! Morgan loved sliding in and swimming to the steps.

We are so proud of our big 3 year old and all that she is learning to do! She is the best!

18 months

Graham is already 18 months old. Where does time go?!? He is one happy, easy-going BOY. He has become very independent and wants to do everything by himself. He does great feeding himself with a spoon but he has been a little picky the last week or so. Hopefully it is just a little stage that will pass soon?!? He is starting to talk more and more. He loves to try to repeat words that we say. Some of the things he says are mama, dada, ball, dog, juice, more, Mo for Morgan, duck, shoes, tee tee and there are probably some others. He can point to some of his body parts. He does has occasional meltdowns usually caused by he and Morgan wanting the same toy. The tantrums don't last long...just a couple high pitched squeals! He loves to try to do everything that Morgan does. He does great playing in playgroups, at the gym and at Sunday School and even does well (most times) when we drop him off. He understands so much of what we say and follows directions very well. He is just perfect!

He weighed 24 lbs. putting him in the 25th percentile for weight. He measured 33" tall which is the 75th percentile and his head is 19 1/2" which falls in the 75th-90th percentile. He has grown into a tall, thin toddler. Here are a few recent pictures.

He has started swimming around in Morgan's floaties and he is doing great. He is our little fish that loves to kick around and blow bubbles. We need to get him his own floaties so he doesn't have to wear the pink ones. :)

Morgan is on week two of swim lessons and is becoming quite the little swimmer. I will blog about swim lessons soon but here is a picture of her swimming to Daddy. We are SO proud of her!!!

Port Aransas

In June we went on a beach vacation to Port Aransas. It took me a long time to blog about our vacation because I have so many pictures from the trip that I knew it would take a lot of time and I didn't want to leave anything out. It was a perfect trip! We spent the first two days of our trip with our friends, the Vicari's and the Dwinell's. We always have such a good time with them, they are such sweet friends of ours and all our kids are close in age and play well together. Here is a picture of all the kids on the beach.

This was Morgan's third time on the beach. She has been to FL twice, once when she was 5 months and again when she was 15 months and both times she didn't want anything to do with the beach and all the sand. This year was different - she loved the beach, waves, sand, sea shells and everything single thing about it! She had a blast and it was so fun for us to watch her enjoy every minute of it!

This was Graham's first trip to the beach. He did great for his first time. He liked to play in the sand and water but didn't stay interested in it as long as his big sis. It was a lot to take in for the little guy with the heat and all, but he was a trooper!

After a FUN two day with our friends we moved down the beach to a beach house we rented to spend the remainder of the trip with the family. This was our first family trip and we had a great time. We might just have to do this every year!

We stayed at the Spinnaker House in the Royal Sands neighborhood and it was a nice and quiet location. The beach wasn't crowded which was nice - Lots of room for us to run and play!

Uncle Troy brought water guns for the kids and they were a big hit. We had some serious water gun fights with ice cold water out of his cooler. :)

My mom and Bobby, Troy, Valerie and Brian went on a guided fishing trip with Alex Porter one morning. They didn't have much luck but Troy won the award for catching the best fish.
