Memorial Day Weekend

For some, it's the start of summer and for others, the end of the school year. But for everyone, this is a time where we should remember all of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

It was the start of summer for us with lots of fun, sun, friends, family, food and pool time!

On Friday, me and the kids went out to Country Critters in Alvarado with MECPTA. It was a great outing with our friends!

That afternoon the kids and Bryan went for their 1st swim of the summer!! Morgan jumped right in with her floaties and loved every minute of it. Graham cried for about a minute when Bryan took him in and then he was fine. The water was a little chilly so I choose to take pictures! :)

Friday night we met our friends, Lisa and Ryan out at Tierra Verde for "Party on the Patio." It was a nice evening and we really enjoyed visiting with them and listening to the band!

Saturday we went to Win Kids and celebrated Logan's 3rd birthday. Win Kids was a very neat place and we all had a great time. It made me excited for the day I can sign Morgan up for gymnastics.

On Sunday we went to church for a wonderful Memorial Day service. Later in the day we had family over, cooked out and swam some more.

My first swim. It was so fun playing in the pool with the kids.

And today on Memorial Day, we remember those who have fought and died for our freedom.

We took it easy this morning, went for another swim after the kids' nap and then headed to the county club for a little golf and dinner.

Hope you all had a fun and safe holiday weekend and Memorial Day!

Nutty Buddy

On Tuesday and Wednesday I played in the Member-Member golf tournament at WCCC. I wasn't planning to play this year since my original Nutty Buddy, B, is days again from having baby Caroline but a few days before the tournament, Mimi Leasor called and asked me to play. Of course, I was excited and very interested in playing but the challenge was finding a sitter for Graham. I knew April could keep Morgan while I played but she doesn't have room for Graham. I ended up getting a neighbor lined up to babysit Graham and she was GREAT! I was SO proud of Graham for being a big boy for Lauren. I know he had a blast with her!

The tournament this year had a western theme and Mimi did a great job finding us western golf attire.

We played okay on Tuesday and very well on Wednesday which put us 3rd in our flight overall. Mimi was a great partner!! We scrambled well together throughout the tournament and even managed to take first in the Shoot Out.

Final Scoreboard

Thanks to Mimi for the invite! You are one fun Nutty-Buddy!!

And a BIG THANKS to my babysitters and also to Bryan for making it possible for me to have some fun on the course this week!

WCCC Solheim Cup 2011

Last weekend was the 5th annual showdown at WCCC. This is one of my favorite tournaments to play in at the club. It is my 4th year to play in this tournament as a Mickey. It is a fun two days of match-play competition. The first day's format is two-member teams, playing alternate shot on the first nine and low ball on the second nine. The final day consists of singles matches.

Everyone ready to hit the course!
The Mickey's (in red) vs. The Babes (in pink)

Except me...I wore the wrong color shirt and ran home to get to change shirts. Go figure!

This year I played with my teammate, Peggy Barnes on Day 1 against Terri Chatham and Judy Cordell from The Babes team. We tied the front nine each receiving a half-point and they beat us on the back winning a point. My singles match was against Nancy Smith which again was halfed after tying our match.

In action...

After Day 1, The Babes led The Mickey's by 1 point. Day 2 the Mickey's (defending champions) pulled through in the singles matches to retain the Cup!

5th Annual WCCC Solheim Cup Champions! Way to go Mickey's!!

Victory drink out of the Cup

The overall count is now Mickey's - 2, Babes -3.

It was a wonderful weekend with friends, golf and great weather. Thanks to Patti for all that she does to make this such a wonderful tournament and also to our captains; Gladyce Reed, Pat Davis, Julie Owens - great job!! Can't wait til next year!!

Happy Mother's Day!

We weren't able to spend Mother's Day with my mom or Bryan's mom but they are two of the most wonderful moms that we know and love.

Mother's Day for me was just what I wanted it to be. A relaxing family day! There is nothing better than waking up to my babies with there arms filled with homemade gifts. They worked with Daddy and made the sweetest cards. They just brought happy tears to my eyes and to top it off hearing "Happy Mother's Day" from sweet Morgan's little voice just melted my heart. Graham babbled it to me as well in his own way. ;) They made me feel so appreciated and loved.

We went to church and Morgan made me another cute craft at Sunday school.

Then we headed to the Country Club for brunch. It was very nice. Then we went home so the kids could catch a nap before heading to Uncle Brent and Aunt Julie's for dinner.

The two that made me a mommy and for that I will be forever thankful.

These two and their daddy are my everything!

Cute picture of Morgan and Daddy!

Morgan even snapped a picture of us! She did pretty good!

Hope all you moms and moms-to-be had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Crazy about baths

We had a fun morning with friends at the gym and then we met more friends, Jennifer and Clayton, at the park. The weather is beautiful and it is great fun for the kids to get to play and get dirty outside. But after a morning like today we had to make time for a bath before nap. I just can't send my babies to bed dirty. I have always been a little obsessed about baths. Since they were newborns, they both usually got two baths a day so I think they are just used to the routine. There is nothing better than clean, fresh smelling babies!

Maybe that is why they sleep so good?!?!

Thank goodness they love bath time!
