Preschool Days

The kids started their 2nd year at First Faith Preschool at FUMC on September 4th, 2012.  Morgan is in Mrs. Gower's Pre-K (4's) class and Graham is in Mrs. Simpkins' (2's) class.  Here are a few pictures of them on the first day of school.

Morgan has done very well getting back into the school routine.   She is still pretty quiet but she really loves her teachers and she enjoys telling us all about her days at school and everything she is learning.  On the other hand, Graham had a tough start to his year but he is improving day by day.  He cried the first couple days at drop off which of course, broke my heart and made me cry.  I am the most emotional mommy ever!!  His teachers are trying to work with all the kids on potty training and Graham is not one bit interested, if fact, he is pretty scared of the potty.  He loves ready potty books, enjoys watching the rest of the family go potty but does not have any interest in learning to do it himself.  He screamed for the first couple weeks when his teachers put him on the potty so they have eased off a bit.  Every once in awhile he has one wet pull up but most days he stays dry until I pick him up.  This really breaks my heart too...can't be good for him to hold it all day.

However, I believe that he is happy in class now.  He is always playing, smiling, having a good time when I pick him up from school and for that I am thankful and happy!

Last week they had picture day.  Here are a couple shots I got of them before heading to school.

I got a call from the office mid-morning on picture day just giving me a heads up that Graham didn't take a school picture and they said Morgan did great.  They told me that Graham was perfectly happy watching his classmates take their pictures but got very upset when it was his turn.
Oh well!  At least I got a few of my own of them on picture day.

I know they are both going to have a great year at First Faith and I am looking forward it.
I am enjoying each and every day with them and not rushing a single day by.
Next year, Morgan will be in Kindergarten and I am just not ready for that yet.

2012 Walnut Creek Member Guest Golf Tournament

This is one of my favorite golf tournaments and I always look forward to it!  It is super fun and a great opportunity for Kristie and I to get on the course together.  We started golfing at a young age it was a big part of our lives growing up.  After college we put the clubs up for awhile while focusing on our careers, family, etc.  We love to play but just don't get out as much as we would like being the busy moms that we are today.  :)

Heading out the first day...

Love this picture.  Just like the old days :)

We had a tough start.  We hit the ball well but left some shots out there...especially a few 3 foot putts we missed.   We shot a gross 79 in best ball format.

Day 2 was scramble/shamble format.  Our A games showed up this day.  We gave ourselves lots of good opportunities to score, made good putts and shot a 66 which put us at 2nd Gross and 3rd Net for the tournament.  Hooray!!!

Thanks to our wonderful husbands for holding out the fort and keeping all of the kids safe!  :)
Y'all are the best!!

Me and the boys :)
Morgan is such a great little helper with Sadie!  They guys are lucky they had such a good helper. ;) Sweet girls

My Husband the...Triathlete!

No resting this Labor Day - Bryan competed in his 1st Sprint Triathlon - The Blackland Tri in Plano.
His friend, Casey encouraged him to sign up.  Bryan loves having fitness goals so this was right up his alley.  I am proud of them for wanting to accomplish something of this magnitude. Training for an event like this takes real discipline, both mental and physical variety.

The kids were busy the night before the race making their cheer signs...

Look at those great coloring jobs!!!
The cheerleaders with signs, whistles and a blow horn to help cheer on Daddy, Casey and everyone else!
Casey heading out of transition 1...All smiles
Waiting to see Daddy after his swim...He started about 5 minutes after Casey
 Go Daddy!!!!
Bryan leaving transition 1...Looking pretty serious
 Go Daddy!! We Love You!
 Casey making his 1st lap...
 Bryan's 1st lap on bike...
Finishing up the bike ride
Transition 2...about to take off on run
Bryan and Casey met up on the last mile of the run.
There was just a little bit of rivalry between the two of them. :)
 Coming across the finish line!
